Selhurst Park is home to Championship side Crystal Palace.
The ground was built in 1924 and opened a year later. It has been cleaned up and expanded 4 times since then.
This was a boxing day clash against troubled Ipswich Town.
I decided to go in the North Stand for the match, behind one goal.
The ground looks new in certain places and old in others. The wooden seats show this.
The stand I was in held about 4385 fans, all under cover.
The stand to my right, the West or Main stand holds about 6577. This has wooden seating in some sections.
The East stand also holds 6577.
The biggest stand is the Holmesdale Stand or the South stand. This holds about 8770.
The match had a shock start with Ipswich taking an unexpected lead. This was then cancelled out by a Palace equaliser. Later on in the match the Eagles fired 2 into the back of the net to take the 3 points.
A great day out in South Norwood and a very good attendance for a boxing day fixture.
